Our Goals...

We strive to have a program that includes having titled GSD's that are sound in body and mind.

We want to be able to help people and bring peace into their lives.

Welcome to vom Steinhund

Welcome to our home on the web.

We are very proud of the dogs that we currently have. We believe that keeping our dogs working is the key to them being happy, and we train 4 to 5 days a week. We do search & recovery, security and narcotics, and Schutzhund.

They are conformationally sound and are great family pets as well as great working dogs.

I have been working with dogs for about 20 years.  During the late 90's I was secretary then President for the Lancaster Ohio Kennel Club/ Mt. Pleasant Kennel Club.  I had shown my Shetland Sheepdogs and Rottweilers in AKC conformation shows as well as helping out friends with various other breeds.  Trained and obtained CGC's and Therapy Dog titles also.  Began schutzhund training around 2000 for a while with my Rottweilers and then started again with German Shepherds in July 2007.  I was secretary for the Hondonsport Ohio Schutzhund Club from 2008 to 2011. We believe in a healthy lifestyle for our dogs and we believe in genetic testing and having titles on our dogs.  We also feed a totally raw diet to our dogs.  We do not have a 'kennel' situation, our dogs live in our home with us.

I am currently the Secretary for HondenSport Ohio Schutzhund Club.

Me and my son Conner, and our girl, Ellie.

The German Shepherd Dog is a strong, agile, well muscled animal, alert and full of life. He is well balanced, with harmonious development of the body and mind. He has look of quality and nobility--difficult to define, but unmistakable when present.

The German Shepherd has a personality marked by direct and fearless, but not hostile, expression, self-confidence. The dog must be approachable, quietly standing its ground and showing confidence and willingness to meet overtures without itself making them. He is poised, but when the occasion demands, eager and alert; both fit and willing to serve in its capacity as companion, watchdog, blind leader, herding dog, or guardian, whichever the circumstances may demand.
